5:00 AM – Early Morning Hotel Pickup Start your adventure early with a pick-up from your hotel. Your driver will take you to the airport for a flight to Selous, where your safari adventure awaits.
7:00 AM – Flight to Selous Game Reserve Enjoy a scenic flight over Zanzibar’s coastline and the vast savannahs of mainland Tanzania. The flight to Selous takes approximately 1 hour, offering aerial views of the reserve’s landscape.
8:00 AM – Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve Upon arrival, you’ll meet your local safari guide and head out for your first game drive. This early morning safari gives you the best chance to spot wildlife before the heat of the day. You might encounter lions, elephants, giraffes, and various antelope species.
11:00 AM – Boat Safari on the Rufiji River Next, enjoy a relaxing boat safari on the Rufiji River. This unique experience allows you to see crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of bird species from the comfort of the boat, gliding through the river’s calm waters.
1:00 PM – Lunch in the Reserve Take a break for a delicious, packed lunch in the heart of the reserve, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush. Enjoy fresh, local dishes and the chance to take in the surrounding beauty.
2:00 PM – Afternoon Game Drive Continue your safari adventure with an afternoon game drive. As the day cools down, animals become more active, and you’ll have another opportunity to spot the diverse wildlife that calls Selous home.
4:00 PM – Flight Back to Zanzibar After your afternoon game drive, it’s time to head back to the airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar.
5:00 PM – Return to Hotel Arrive back in Zanzibar and transfer to your hotel, filled with unforgettable memories from a true African safari experience.
