9:00 AM – Hotel Pickup and Scenic Drive to Village Your day begins with a warm welcome and a drive through Pemba’s lush countryside to a selected village. On the way, your guide will explain village life, social structures, and what to expect from this cultural immersion.
10:00 AM – Village Welcome and Introduction Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by community members. A brief introduction will be given about the village’s history, its cultural significance, and how the locals are involved in preserving traditions.
10:30 AM – Walk Through the Village and Daily Activities Join your hosts for a relaxed walk around the village. See traditional Swahili architecture, peek into family compounds, and take part in everyday tasks—be it weaving mats, grinding spices, or helping prepare coconut milk. Everything is guided with respect and hospitality.
12:00 PM – Traditional Swahili Lunch Sit down for a delicious homemade lunch prepared by village women. You'll get to taste local dishes like wali wa nazi (coconut rice), fresh seafood or vegetables, and seasonal fruit—all cooked using traditional methods.
1:00 PM – Music, Dance, or Storytelling (Subject to Availability) Depending on the day and availability, enjoy a cultural performance or storytelling session from village elders. Music and dance are often used to share history and pass on knowledge in Pemba, and you're welcome to join in.
2:30 PM – Q&A Session and Farewell Wrap up the tour with a relaxed conversation over tea. Ask your hosts questions about life, traditions, or history—most are happy to share their perspectives and stories.
3:00 PM – Return to Hotel Leave the village with a heart full of memories and a deeper connection to Pemba’s people and traditions.
