As you drive through rural Pemba, you’ll see coconut palms, clove trees, and glimpses of village life.
9:45 AM – Introduction and Welcome by Local Guide Upon arrival, your local guide—a conservation enthusiast or community member—will welcome you and explain the history of the forest, the role of the Pemba Flying Fox in the ecosystem, and ongoing conservation efforts to protect them.
10:00 AM – Forest Walk and Bat Observation Walk quietly through the shaded forest, looking up into the treetops where hundreds of Pemba Flying Foxes roost. You’ll hear their rustling wings and soft calls as they hang upside down in clusters. With a bit of patience, you may even see them take flight—an unforgettable sight!
11:00 AM – Q&A Session and Relaxation Take a few moments to sit in a peaceful clearing, ask your guide questions, or just listen to the sounds of the forest. You’ll have the chance to learn how the community coexists with the bats and what makes this species so ecologically valuable.
12:00 PM – Return Drive to Hotel After this gentle yet eye-opening encounter with nature, you'll be driven back to your hotel, carrying memories of a truly unique wildlife experience.
